UKRAINE FUNDRAISING CONCERT

The last few weeks I have provided a brief update on this concert as though there had been a lot of work done (nearly all by Ted) there wasn't a lot that had been locked in but this week things have been different. Ted has kept working on it together with the President of the Ukraine Association of Victoria, Slawko Kohut. The difference is that they have really made progress this week, mostly today.

So here is what I can tell you.

• The Concert is going ahead. It will be at the Melbourne Town Hall and the rental cost and most of the other costs are being covered.

• The capacity at the venue is about 2,000.

• The Concert  will be on Saturday 7th May 2022 (probably at 3.00 pm)

• One of the speakers will be our DG, Dale Hoy

Rotary District 9800 Conference 2022

Last week I did a big push to promote the conference and I am pleased to advise that our incoming President-Elect, Herbson Singo has confirmed he will be attending so our club will be represented by Judy and I and Herbson as well as our Global Grant Scholar from Japan, Atsuya Tazoe

Metro Tunnel BBQ

Last Sunday was the first of 2 BBQs our club committed to carrying out for the Metro Tunnel at the new Arden Station. Andrew Georgiou took over managing the BBQ and did a great job. We had a lot of members unavailable for the event but we managed to get enough volunteers, so thank you to all those that did help out on the day.

ELECTION BBQ

The Election date has not been set yet but the money is on Saturday 14th May 2022 and it will be at the North Melbourne Primary School

MOTHER'S DAY CLASSIC BBQ

Naturally, it is on Mother's Day, 8th May 2022 at Alexandra Gardens - Melbourne

METRO TUNNEL BBQ No. 2

The date was to also be on Mother's Day but fortunately, they have now advised they would like to put it off to Sunday 22nd May 2022. This is good news as it means we don't have a clash anymore.

RIMERN

Regarding volunteer opportunities for Rimern we are continuing to restrict our participation to Saturday afternoons and as the facility will be closed on the 16th and 23rd of April that means we are looking for volunteers for the following 3 Saturdays: 2nd April, 9th April, and 30th April.

Please let me know if you are able to do a 12.30 pm to 3.30 pm shift on any of those Saturdays or a weekday as well if it suits you. on page@ghp.biz
