Tomorrow we start the meeting with our AGM which all organizations are required to do by 30th November.

Our Secretary has sent out the agenda to members and the main agenda items will be for the Treasurer to present and pass the financials and to Elect or senior board members. Last year, we didn't pick a President-Elect who would then automatically advance to President for the 2022/2023 year so tomorrow we will elect our next President as well as our next President-Elect.

Last week was a milestone for our club. It is a big occasion even for a club with over 100 members to induct 3 new members at one meeting but for a club with only 15 members it really is significant

The 3 new members are Fatuma Ali, Abdullahi Osman and Ibrahim Abdi. We look forward to the benefit of their contribution to our club and watching their personal growth in our club as well.

We had a couple of people that could not attend our meeting so we put it on Zoom for them to share at the moment as well so can see our member Kammy Leung watching on.

It was good to also have a new volunteer and hopefully, a future member as well in Vidya Yeleswarapu attend our meeting in person for the first time. You'll notice in the photo below that the new members already have their dinner badges. Our club is very big on badges, in fact, each new member received the following 5 badges: 1. Regular Rotary Lapel Pin. 2. Separate Small Rotary Masterbrand Logo Lapel Pin. 3. The Rotary Kangaroo Pin. 4. Our club 50 Year Anniversary Badge & 5. Dinner badge with the member's name and classification.

Already, new member Fatuma Ali is clearly going to be known as the "selfie queen"

Once all the inductions we done we had Herbison speak to us about his vision for a major Wellness Centre for his capital city of Malawi, Lilongwe. He presented the concept drawn up by member Kammy Leung and told us about how the elderly over there need special care as there is a culture of a part of the community to see older people as being involved in witchcraft and as a result are getting murdered due to fear.

As well Ted Dziadkiweicz explained to us about NAC - North Melbourne Agency Collective and pointed out that our club needs to be part of it.

This week our column appeared in the North West City News. If you use the link below you will find our article on page 19 and it is about engagement in the local community and has a picture of members Sainab and Herbson supported by volunteers Rahma, Vidya, and Michelle who all were working at Rimern.

This is quite a big one as we are catering for 400 people and we have been requested to provide sausages, veggie burgers, and soft drinks.
